Big E Cafe´ and Empanada Factory, is a family own business with eight years of experience in the production, distribution and retail business of empanadas. Our philosophy is to treat our wholesale customers as partners in our quest to make this extraordinary pastry the favored snack or meal in the food industry.

How can your business benefit from our products?

We believe in our product’s potential and we have our own retail business to prove it, where we have introduced our product under the concept of good quality espresso and empanadas. As a small coffee shop business owners, we understand the challenges of competing for market share against large corporate coffee shop and other small independent businesses. So in order to survive in this tough market business owners have to be innovative and introduce unique products that would expand their market share. For this reason we believe the empanada is the product you need to give your organization the cutting edge.

Low labor cost. Labor is expensive and should not be misallocated in the preparation of complicated sandwiches and other dishes that require especial equipment. Empanadas are a full and complete meal that requires low amount of labor using ordinary equipment that you already have at your shop.

Unexploited market. The empanada is a new product that is rapidly growing in popularity. With an ever increasing demand from consumers and very few eateries offering it, it is a product that has not been fully exploited in the Bay Area. However, many business in the southeast states have already tapped into this market.

Our strategy is to carefully watch our cost and to keep our profit margin as low as possible to make sure our “partners” make a profit. Getting our product expose to a larger market is our priority.

Because of the highly diverse demographics in the bay area, some times it can be difficult to introduce new product that can be appealing to a large majority of clients at a establishment. How do we know our product will provide the returns you need for your business?

Having our own empanadas retail business have taught us about the pitfalls that exists in marketing new products. We have done a lot of the research and we put our product to the test every day to pass on our experience to our partners on how to market our product to get better returns. Our product have helped a large percentage of our gross sales making us less dependent on coffee sales therefore less vulnerable to competition from large corporations and coffee shop chains, but also we know that even though the product sells itself proper marketing of the product can make a big difference.
